He has only had a couple of days on the bike outdoors but Cooper Webb says he feels great already on the Tea Tedder Husqvarna ahead of being team Captain for this weekend’s MXoN that Webb says is the biggest race in the world.
Webb told us: “We are good, we are happy, man! We had a great day 11 years ago, i have raced all over the world and I enjoy racing in France, I have raced Paris (Supercross) raced Ernee before, I love Europe so I am vibing.
“I am team Captain which is sick, showing the boys the Euro ways, new bike and I am loving it. Just good vibes, I am so stoked to be here, this is the best race in the world.
“And is he comfortable on the bike? Oh yeah, 100%, we feel good, we have awesome settings, I gelled with iy right away and so far so good.”
Webb added in the press conference, “We got to ride the new bike at all the French tracks, we got the proper break-in, so it was good to be on the new bike. We have a young team which is awesome, so I am stoked to have this role (as team captain) to give them the experience that I have learned. When I was here in 2015, I was literally in Julien’s shoes and battled with Romain and he was world champ. There are a lot of good memories, good vibes. We had great day that day and it’s good to be at a track I have ridden before and have a little bit of experience.
“Just teaching these guys the rights and the wrongs, what to do, what not to do and Americans it is hard to come here and just embrace it, it’s such a shock, these guys have never been to Europe so it is a lot. Luckyily for me I have travelled the world racing my dirt bike so it is pretty natural for me.
“I think we are pretty underrated and are ceiling in super high for this team. Win, lose or draw I am very happy for these two to come. That’s a thing in the US right now, not maybe the best Americans are showing up, truly gratefful I am a part of this team and these guys are all in.”
