Simon Laengenfelder had a superb first lap passing Tom Vialle and pulling away at the front looking superb. The young German looked to have the win in the bag but Vialle had other ideas and was all over him on the last lap making a pass on the final lap to take a strong win. Hunter Lawrence rode well in third with Kay de Wolf passing RJ Hampshire on the final lap for fourth.
Andrea Adamo and Lucas Coenen got caught up on the first corner leaving them with a lot of work to do. Adamo got back up to tenth for Italy which was needed after Forato went also went down in the MXGP qualifying.
Glenn McCormick finished twenty-eighth with Josh Gilbert in seventeenth.
