Stephen Rubini leaves SR Honda – heading to America?

Stephen Rubini has had a good time with the SR Honda team racing the MX2 World Championship for a couple of years before moving up to the 450cc this year.

The French talent focused on the French Elite series this year finishing runner up to team mate, Valentin Guillod but he also raced a couple of MXGP World Championship rounds. However, now the French Elite series is over for the year, Rubini has confirmed he has left the SR Honda team.

Rubini has something in the works which will be official soon – we believe he will be heading to America to line up at the final three rounds of the AMA Nationals in the 250cc class. It remains to be seen what he will do for the 2024 season but the hope is he’ll also be racing in America next year as well.

“I had a very good weekend for the final of the French Elite 2023 championship. I had very good lap times and a lot of fun during my race. Won the first heat but the second was a bit more difficult with not so much possibility to pass. I started in the 5 and finished in the 2nd place. I won the overall of the day and closed this season with the title of Vice-Champion of France Elite MX1, a rather positive outcome as I started my season with a dislocated shoulder.

This was a really good year also for my team, Honda SR, who earned two titles so far:
Champion of France and Vice-Champion of France. It was my last race with the Honda SR team and I really want to thank them for all these years together. I am also grateful for them to allow me to achieve my dreams and continue with my future projects. A new adventure is starting for me very soon and I can’t wait to tell you about it”.
