Race results: MX2 World Championship RD12 – Geerts wins at Loket

Race One: What a race the opening moto was with a chaotic first lap. Riders went down around turn one and then a couple of corners later there was another pile up and Andrea Adamo was caught in the middle of it! Whilst all that was going on Jago Geerts had the lead and was looking good at the front ahead of Kevin Horgmo. Adamo after a couple of laps was already pushing towards the top ten but whilst trying to get around Rick Elzinga the pair touched which seen Adamo hit the deck. The Italian had to come from outside the top twenty and got to eleventh but was docked 2 spots for passing on a waved yellow – drama! At the front Horgmo was catching Geerts but the Belgian held on to take a very big win which might just get him back in championship contention.

Race Two: Simon Laengenfelder held the early race lead but the man on the move was the very motivated Andrea Adamo. He was outside the top five but made passes on Geerts, Coenen and more to get into second. He then closed down the gap to Laengenfelder quite quickly but needed a few laps to find away around. Once he did he simply dominated taking his first MX2 race win. Geerts was able to get back to third to take the overall win on his Yamaha. Camden Mc Lellan was riding great in fourth on his JM Honda up until the very last lap when Kay de Wolf made a move. The pass meant de Wolf secured the third step of the podium! It meant Horgmo ended up fourth overall but he also rode well in race two to come from outside the top twenty all the way to ninth.
