MX1 race results: International Italian Championship RD1 – Seewer wins Ponte A Egola

In the opening race it was the two Yamaha’s who led after the first corner with Maxime Renaux ahead of his team mate, Jeremy Seewer. The reigning MXGP World Champion, Tim Gajser was third on the opening lap so all the heavy hitters were there and not much split them throughout the whole race.

Renaux dealt well with the pressure behind him – as he usually does to take the win on the new Yamaha.

Mattia Guadagnini and Alberto Forato had lonely rides to finish in fourth and fifth ahead of Ruben Fernandez who didn’t get the best of starts.

Ben Watson finished ninth on his Beta race debut behind Benoit Paturel.

In the second race, it was Jeremy Seewer who grabbed the holeshot on his Factory Yamaha ahead of Mattia Guadagnini and Tim Gajser. A mistake dropped Seewer back down to third but he made an aggressive move stick on Gajser and then set about passing Guadagnini back for the lead.

Seewer was able to get around the young Italian but Gajser quickly followed through. Not much split the pair at the very front who set a very high pace and despite a last ditch attempt from Gajser, Seewer was able to hold on to the win.

Maxime Renaux didn’t get the best of starts but passed Forato and Guadagnini to get back to third.
