Karssemakers injured

After a great start to his first MX2 season on the Hitachi KTM, the young Kay Karssemakers has unfortunately sustained a hand injury at Mantova putting him out for a few weeks.

Kay wrote: “Unfortunately, on Saturday I crashed during the qualifying race in Mantova it and broke my hand. 🤕 It’s a shame because I felt good on the bike and the riding went really well all day.

“In the free practice I had a 17th time and in the time practice 15th time with only 2sec difference from the top, which was good. 💪 In the qualifying race I had a good start and rode for a long time in 11th place until I crashed two laps before the end and my weekend was over. 🙄👎 On Monday I went to the hospital and had a surgery on the scaphoid fracture in my hand. A small setback, but I hope we won’t be out too long. 🤞

“Thanks to the team for all the hard work, sponsors and all the people around me! We’ll be back soon! 💪👊”
