You are the new manager of Team Switzerland MXoN for the next three years. How will the team present under your leadership?
First of all, I was very pleased that the Swiss Federation (FMS) chose me. They wanted to make a fresh start and looked for a new solution for now and the future. After some time, I decided to handle this important task. I am very well networked, highly motivated and close to our riders. I do not want to reinvent the wheel, so thanks to Diego Clement, Pierrick Page and Marc Ristori for their great work.
Is there a philosophy, how would you like to lead the team?
The spirit in Team Switzerland was and is outstanding. As a team leader, our job is to provide the perfect background for the riders to do their great job on the MXoN as they do in the World Championship. This means that there is a quiet and professional environment around the team, which is not easy in the expected and understandable rush of the many swiss fans. Therefore, per example, there will be a meet and greet of the team in Assen on Saturday.
Who are the key partners for the team to achieve maximum success?
First and foremost there is the Swiss Federation (FMS). Extremely important are the teams of the nominated riders, who are responsible for the technique and the perfect preparation of the motorcycles. Last but not least, our official sponsors and partners, to whom we want to thank in advance for the support. And a very important factor: our countless loyal fans from all over Switzerland, who stand behind our team like one man and together with us give the best for our country! That’s why I’m particularly pleased to announce that there will be another “Swiss House” in Assen, where all the fans and supporters can meet!
The MXoN 2019 will take place at the end of September. What will be the procedure until then (driver, team presentation, media partner, sponsors, partners, Swiss team tent in Assen, etc.)?
We held initial discussions with the responsible persons of the association and defined a timeline. It looks like this: 1. Discussions with the possible riders 2. Design of the new logo 3. Restart the social media channels on Facebook and Instagram 4. Contacting potential sponsors 5. Contacting media partners The official press conference of Team Switzerland MXoN takes place during the MXGP of Belgium in Lommel. The presentation will be broadcasted by MXGP-TV.
