Deegan brings UFC expertise into his camp and immediately wins!

It has emerged that Haiden Deegan has made changes to his training methods ahead of SMX and it might just be the final piece he was looking for.

Speaking Adam Enticknap from TrackTalkers, Deegan  revealed: “I’m gonna try and keep it a secret as long as I can. But I will say, there’s some new trainer and I brought in some of the most badass people you can bring in from other sports. I did that. So, I don’t want to give my program away too much.. I‘m at the highest level now. I got to keep some stuff a secret.

“But again, I brought in people, I brought in some that’s a really high level from a different sport, UFC. So, guys that are smart and that know how to really get your body right and that’s been my goal.”

Deegan had made mention prior that he worked really hard in the two weeks between Ironman and round one of SMX and, even though it was a mud race, it has paid dividends and, more importantly, Deegan will have even more confidence going forward.

Just like Jorge Prado at Ironman, the door has been opened to win and Deegan walked through and took the opportunity. Now both Prado and Deegan believe they can win anytime, anywhere, once again.

Remember when Ricky Carmichael started training with Aldon Baker midway through the 2000 outdoor season? By the end he was really starting to dominate and he never lost another title.
