Cas Valk’s 2026 season has certainly been an eventful one but the young Dutchman could be set to continue with Chambers KTM for the 2027 season.
Valk began the year with TM machinery, but things did not go according to plan and the two parties eventually reached a mutual agreement to part ways. That left the talented Dutch rider without a ride, although he did not remain on the sidelines for long.
The British-based team of Chambers KTM moved quickly to secure Valk’s services, giving him an opportunity to get back on the KTM machinery he had enjoyed success with in the past.
As soon as Valk returned to KTM machinery, he looked comfortable and quickly showed the speed that makes him such a highly regarded young talent. Unfortunately, his comeback was cut short when he suffered an injury while competing in a Dutch Masters of Motocross event.
The injury came before Valk had the opportunity to make his MX2 World Championship debut with Chambers KTM, bringing a frustrating end to what had already been a difficult season.
There has been some speculation in the GP paddock surrounding Valk’s future. We understand that Maddii Racing Honda showed significant interest in securing the Dutchman for next season, but at this stage, we believe Valk has elected to remain with KTM and continue with the Chambers KTM team.
If the deal comes together as expected, Valk’s main focus will be the MX2 World Championship in 2027. There is certainly no question regarding his speed or talent, and if he can find consistency and stay fit, there is plenty of potential for him to make a real impact in the class.
For Chambers Racing, retaining Valk would represent a major coup and provide the team with a talented rider capable of challenging for strong results on the world stage.
It will also be interesting to see who Maddii Racing eventually selects to replace Maxime Grau, with the Frenchman expected to make the move to HRC Honda for the 2027 season.
Valk is also expected to contest selected rounds of the British Championship next year, which would be welcome news for British fans to see a top MX2 GP rider.
Before looking ahead to 2027, Valk is set to make his return to racing at the final round of the British Championship at Blaxhall. The Dutchman has recently returned to riding and will be hoping to end a frustrating season on a positive note.
At this stage, nothing has been officially confirmed regarding Valk’s 2027 plans but we will bring you more information as and when it becomes available.
