Austin Forkner has left the only team he has ridden for a as a professional to join a Triumph team in its sophomore year. Injury after injury has curtailed Forkner’s career trajectory after he came into the pro ranks with fearless speed and now he us rebuilding once again after his brutal crash last season.
But Triumph are building too and that bike, as it proved in MX2 and ANA racing is fast. The company have done as astonishing job with the bike and now they want wins.
Title have been hard to come by for Forkner but he has always had speed, presuming this continues and he can adapt to the bike quickly, Forkner is probably, out if everyone on the team, most likely to get Triumph’s first ever win. To do that in a supercross in just their second year in racing would be a HUGE deal and major accomplishment.
Forkner says he wants to be that guy, and there is no reason he can’t do it. Forkner may have left Pro Circuit Kawasaki but he hasn’t downgraded. The Triumph is the real deal and with Ricky Carmichael still involved he has a great sounding board to learn from.
The pieces are still in place for Austin Forkner to deliver. See how he looks on his new machine below:
