AMA Supercross 250SX rule changes – pointing out system amended

With just over a month before the AMA Supercross opener, some changes have been made to the rule book for the 2023 season.

Riders can no longer point out of racing the 250SX classes and the only way they will be forced to moving up to the 450cc class is by winning the title – they will of course be able to defend their title but must run the #1 plate the year after and will only be eligible to a maximum of four years in the class. If a rider wins a 250 title twice they will then only be permitted to having three years in the class.

The rules are only coming into force going forward so anyone that pointed out this year still need to make the move up to the 450SX class in 2023.
