MX2 race results: British Championship RD1 – Hawkstone Park

Moto one: Talented teenager, Jamie Keith, took a brilliant moto win in his British championship debut to underline just why so many people are excited about his future at the top level! After a year of injury, Keith holeshot and calmly checked out on tough track made tougher by a huge downpour.

Ollie Colmer took second with Charlie Heyman third a Tommy Searle took a bad start and worked his way back to seventh, passed late by Joe Brookes.

Keith said: “I don’t know what to say! Every time I went over the finish like I just thought, ‘another lap.’ That’s all I kept saying and stay calm. I’m at a loss for words, I’m buzzing.”

Moto two: Jamie Keith’s moto two result went upside down literally in turn two, as he went down along with Tommy Searle with Keith crashing a couple more times after getting back into the points then forced to DNF with a clutch issue.

Up front, it was Gyan Doensen who moved into the lead and secured the win over Ben Mustoe who had a great ride for second and Mr Consistent, Charlie Heyman, third in a good points haul for the championship. Billy Askew was in the top ten but ultimately ended up with a DNF in a terrible start to his season.
