In just his second season in the EMX250 class, Danish prospect Mads Fredsøe has been putting in some very strong performances. After spending 2024 with the Beddini GasGas team, Fredsøe was left searching for a new opportunity when the squad temporarily stepped away from the paddock to focus on their Ducati 250cc commitments.
That opened the door to a move to Cat Moto Bauerschmidt Husqvarna, themselves a recently newly formed team, only in their second year contesting the EMX250 series. The partnership has proven a great fit, with Fredsøe showing flashes of real speed – most notably grabbing a podium at the season opener in Cozar. Unfortunately, an injury meant he missed four rounds, hampering his overall points haul, but the raw pace and potential remain clear to see.
Looking ahead to 2026, it’s understood that Fredsøe has struck a deal to continue with Cat Moto Bauerschmidt Husqvarna. The outfit have already confirmed that Liam Owens will also stay on board, meaning two of their current riders are set to remain in place.
The team have also played a key role in the development of Nico Greutmann, who sits fourth in the EMX250 standings with one round remaining. However, with the Swiss rider ageing out of the class after this season, his future lies elsewhere. Greutmann is expected to move up to a 450cc machine for 2026 – a logical step given his size and physical build. At this stage, he is believed to be weighing up options both in Europe and across the Atlantic in the United States.
As for Cat Moto Bauerschmidt Husqvarna, the plan is once again to field a three-rider line-up in EMX250 for 2026. Their final signing is yet to be confirmed, with the possibility of signing an up-and-coming talent from the EMX125 championship.
One thing is certain: with Fredsøe and Owens staying put, the team will have a solid foundation heading into their third season in the highly competitive EMX250 class.
Expect more announcements and plenty of movement around the paddock as preparations for 2026 ramp up.
