Race One: The first race was chaos with pretty wild conditions! The first 3-4 corners especially but actually the second half of the track is starting to dry out – so hopefully it stays dry the rest of the weekend.
At the front there was a lot going on, Janis Reisulis took the holeshot but made a few mistakes going off the track once which allowed Nico Gruetmann get close. The Swiss rider then made a move for the lead but soon after crashed out – not ideal when he is already carrying a finger injury.
Fredsoe managed to get to the front after Reisulis crashed but the Latvia was keen to get the win and managed to close up and pass him. All of a sudden the last couple of laps Fredsoe had Jake Cannon and Noel Zanocz behind him. Cannon was able to make a move to bring home a superb second – Fredsoe kept Zanocz at bay to finish third.
Adrien Petit rode a solid race for fourth with Brano Rispoli rounding out the top five. Billy Askew looked like he was going to bring home eighth but then made a mistake on the final lap dropping him down to thirteenth.
Race Two: After overnight rain it was another mudder! With conditions difficult a good start was important and it was Ivano van Erp who executed the best start possible. He was leading before Adrien Petit made a pass and then pulled away from the rest of the field – 5-1 was enough for him to take the overall which is his first EMX overall – he takes the red plate to France next weekend.
Race one winner, Reisulis was outside the top twenty on the first lap but was charging through the field and had got himself into a winning position but then made a catalogue of mistakes – he ended up off the podium!
After a DNF in race one, Garcia redeemed himself finishing a strong second ahead of EMX125 champion, Zanocz who ended up second overall. Fredsoe finished sixth which secured the final step on the podium.
Nicolai Skovbjerg will be delighted with his second moto finishing a strong fourth with Werner rounding out the top five.
