The last time Jett Lawerence rode Matterely Basin, back in 2018, he was 14 years old racing EMX250 for Suzuki, the youngster went 29-16 for 18th overall, and Tom Vialle was sixth overall!
Jett said of that day: “I’m hoping I will be able to enjoy it a lot more! I wasn’t able to do much stuff because I was tiny, so I sucked. I am definitely looking forward it, it should be good, hopefully we can get some good starts and have some fun.”
Hunter, meanwhile, won the MX2 class at the MXoN in 2018 over Zach Osborne in a great ride, and was 8th overall in the GP earlier in the year, with a DNF and second place in moto two – this is a track he loves!
“It’s cool (to be here), it’s been a long year,” said Hunter. “First time on a 450 at MXoN which is cool, just looking forward to it, seeing a bunch of familar faces, old friends and stuff, good memoroes from when we were here. The track looks unreal, so yeah, I am excited to race. It’s going to be cool to race difference guys again, I have been looking forward to this event all year, just excited to be back, honestly, I enjoy it.”
