One of the youngest and most promising riders in the MX2 World Championship is undoubtedly Simon Längenfelder. 2020 was his rookie year but injury cut his season short but this year he had some very impressive speed and especially at the start of the season. The young German ended up tenth in the MX2 World Championship in what was his his first full year in the class not disrupted through injury.

Längenfelder has been a full factory GasGas rider since making the jump straight from the EMX125 class to the MX2 World Championship in 2020 and is set to continue his spell as a Factory GasGas rider.

The Austrian brands will have a number of structure changes for the 2022 season with Längenfelder’s current team, Diga-Procross expected to make the switch to KTM machinery with factory support. Pit Beirer has already confirmed that he expects Liam Everts (MX2) and Thomas Kjer Olsen (MXGP) to be under the Diga-Procross awning in 2022.

With regards to Simon Längenfelder we believe he will be under the de Carli Factory GasGas team awning where he’s expected to team up with Mattia Guadagnini (MX2) and Jorge Prado (MXGP) – a very strong team!

With Antonio Cairoli recently confirming he’ll stay with the team in a coaching role, it should be a great opportunity for Längenfelder to learn from a nine times world champion. The de Carli team also have a good reputation in helping improve young talents so keep an eye on Längenfelder as an exciting talent for the future.

We will continue to bring you official news as and when it’s made available.
