Young British talent, Joel Rizzi started the season with the Riley Yamaha Racing team but the team didn’t travel to round three of the MX2 World Championship which took place in Switzerland and the team’s future is in doubt.
It’s thought it had left Rizzi without a ride for the rest of the season but we believe he tested a JM Honda today and will sign a deal with the team. It remains to be seen if he will be a fill in rider for Delvintor Alfariz whose debut didn’t go according to plan in Switzerland as he fractured his fibula or if Rizzi will spend the rest of the season with the team.
Rizzi knows Honda machinery well as he spent his rookie MX2 World Championship season with the 114 Motorsports Honda.
Sources have told us that Rizzi will make his debut for the JM Honda team at Arco di Trento for round four of the MX2 World Championship so there should be announcement made from the team before the weekend.
