Results: MXGP Maggiora – Prado world champion!

Jorge Prado was crowned MXGP world champion for the first time in his career after a moto win and a bike problem that caused Romain Febvre to DNF gave perfect Prado the most prestigious dirt bike title on the planet with three motos remaining!

The emotions were released after as an overjoyed and probably relieved Prado fell to the ground and his delirious team fell on top of him. After years of injury and illness since moving to the 450, now, Prado can finally say he is the best 450 rider on the planet outdoors coming out on top of the unique global series that sees the riders having to travel across different countires and continents on the widest variety of tracks of any series in the world – the ultimate test.

And it is a testament to the determination and pure bike skill of the Spaniard, who controlled the championship all year long with precision. Jorge Prado is now a three time world champ at only 22 years old.

Race two was a cracker, as Prado, Febvre and Gajser came out 1-2-3 and went at it! Febvre spent 15 minutes searching, every corner, for a way by Prado but Jorge held strong until the halfway mark when Febvre and then immediately Gajser went past. Prado dropped back slightly before putting on a charge at the end to catch the duo only to go down with two laps to go, handing the overall victory to Seewer who went 2-4 to Prado’s 1-6 as Febvre held off a determined Gajser for the moto win. Ruben Fernandez had a great ride keeping the top three in sight for a podium overall!
