It was Simon Laengenfelder who grabbed the holeshot on his Factory GasGas but Jago Geerts was the man on the move. The championship leader made moves on Pancer and Laengenfelder to move into the lead and control things at the front. Factory KTM riders were locked in a battle for third with Adamo making the move on Everts. Kay de Wolf didn’t get the best of starts but recovered to sixth just behind his team mate, Roan van de Moosdijk. Thibault Benistant was a disappointing eighth holding off Lucas Coenen.
