A storm hit the Vantaa track which meant it was muddy and very tricky conditions for the MX2 qualifying race. Getting a good start was paramount and Laengenfelder got the holeshot to pull away at the front to take an impressive race win. Sacha Coenen started and finished in second to show the potential he has.
Championship contenders, Geerts and Adamo didn’t get good starts and had to work their way through the pack. Geerts passed Adamo on the opening lap but then the Italian looked to follow him through the field before he stalled. Geerts came up through to third with Adamo a frustrating sixth. The championship gap is now only ten points. Lucas Coenen took a crash which saw him pull out of the race.
