It was Jorge Prado who grabbed the holeshot in the qualifying race but he had Romain Febvre for company who huffed and puffed but just couldn’t make a move on a track very difficult to pass on. Prado rode a cool and calculated race to take the win. Ruben Fernandez rode well to take third.
Glenn Coldenhoff passed his team mate, Jeremy Seewer for fourth on the very last corner. Jeffrey Herlings had a terrible start but managed to get back up to tenth. Gajser also had a bike issue which dropped him way back but he recovered to twelfth.
