Jorge Prado had the perfect end to his MXGP season as he won his fourth world title at his home GP before he heads off to America for 2025!
Prado, using those amazing starts and perfect technique to full effect, went 1-1-4 on the weekend with only one mistake that spooked him allowed Jeffrey Herlings through halfway into the final moto and, at that point, Herlings let Febvre and Gajser past to ensure he could cruise stress free in fourth to win the title.
A delighted Prado said amidst pandemonium of the huge crowd of home supporters that surrounded him:
“It was a great year, I deserved this title win so much. A lot of effort from everyone, that’s the fourth one, let’s gooooo!”
“This is just unbelievable,” said Jorge on winning the title at home in front o such a fervent home crowd. “At the beginning of the season I wouldn’t imagine to be sitting in this position right now. I was just enjoying it so much. That second moto was so long, it just didn’t end. So muc work goes behind this. All the fans came, they were supporting every single lap of the race, it was amazing to see this was amazing to feel that atmosphere on the podium, unbelievable. So grateful to get this MXGP title here in Spain with my fans, my family and my friends, everyone, It’s been an awesome year again.”
