Jett Lawrence on nearly racing Daytona on the 450

Pre-season, Jett Lawrence had openly stated he would like to race the 450 in supercross this season at a couple of the East coast rounds but as the season started that possibility went away with Honda wanting both Lawrence brothers to secure their respective 250 supercross crowns.

During the West break, Jett was riding the 450 on supercross to prepare for 2024 and the SMX races at the end of 2023, and he admitted that he almost ended up racing at Daytona, in the press conference in Seattle. “Bike was great, at Daytona, I was very close to going racing. I was ezcited but I endedn up testing from Monday to Thursday on the bike 10-5 days, it was long days, trying stuff, see what works, learning it’s character. I still wanted to ride press day but my dad kind of pulled the pin because I rode all week, take the week off and have fun.”

Lawrence of course is moving up to the 450 for outdoors in May, so even though we haven’t seen the Aussie on a 450 in supercross, he will be battling Tomac, Sexton, Webb and the rest in a matter of eight weeks!
