Injury update: Alberto Forato – Big practice crash

It has not been an ideal start to the season for Alberto Forato.

The Italian had an operation just before the opening round in Argentina and went there to try and race.

Unfortunately, he had to pull out but was set to make his return at round two in Spain.

However, he had a big crash today (Wednesday) as he was preparing for his return to racing.

As a result he has suffered 8 broken ribs as well as a collapsed lung so he’ll be on the injury list for a while which is a real shame.

“Unfortunately Alberto Forato had a big crash today while preparing for the Spanish GP and suffered 8 broken ribs and a collapsed lung. He’s in Herentals’ hospital where he gets the best care. When it rains, it pours…”, the Standing Construct Honda team shared.

It’ll be interesting to see if the team sign up a replacement rider or fully focus on the impressive Pauls Jonass until Forato makes his return.
