Exciting new international motocross/supercross event in Zimbabwe launches this December!

Joe Tavares, owner of the EHR Racing France and EMX Acadamy France, with the full backing and support from Betterbrands Group of Companies in Zimbabwe has set up an exciting new Summer series in Zimbabwe that will have professional riders and established names from the US, UK, Italy, Belgium, Australia and France over this December for an exciting and unique racing event.

An exciting component to the make up of the overseas riders is a group of young 50cc, 65cc and 85cc riders which Betterbrands fully supports to build up the local motocross sport at grass-roots level.

Many of the invited riders are currently competing on the International SX series and we will publish a list of these riders soon.

Together with Betterbrands, Joe has been working on this vision for over a year with the goal of creating an avenue for African riders to get to Europe, the likes of Manu Baku from Zimbabwe and Calum Marriot from South Africa, who both got to race the Hawkstone International with Joe this year, are examples of the progress. Young Judah Saku was also given the opportunity to ride the MXE Electric bike championship in tracks such as Loket and Zanadu alongside the MXGP stars.

Now the riders will be going to their home turf to experience something different and give the local fans and riders a taste of the professional level overseas. The international riders will be provided with bikes and a travel package so they can enjoy their stay in Zimbabwe and be able to race stress free of logistical worries.

The Betterbrand Summer series event will take place at Donnybrook from the 6th to 10th of December and the unique series will have two separate nights of supercross followed by a day of motocross in what will be a busy but exciting three days of bar-banging racing!

It is a format former World and AMA champion, Grant Langston, experienced himself back in the day and now the revived series looks to provide riders with more unique experiences like a Safari along with three three consecutive days of high octane race action against some strong international competition for the local fans and the riders to enjoy.
