Eli Tomac crashed on the first lap of his heat race and was out for the night after the medics helped the fastest qualifier off the track in a rough end to the Supercross season.
Eli got hit in mid-air and landed on top of his own bike but, thankfully, Ian Harrison said that while Tomac is sore, has scratches on his stomach and hit his hip again, there doesn’t seem to be any broken bones.
Ian said on NBC: “So as you can see from this replay as Eli is going through this section He’s kind of buried in the start a little bit and it’s a split lane and as he takes off from this jump He gets hit from behind which took which he then loses control and basically Superman’s on top of his bike.
“He took all the impact on his hip on the foot peg, so that’s why he’s got such a dead leg. He’s also got a lot of scrapes and scratches on his stomach. So that’ll be the end of it for tonight for us. It kind of reminds me of the last one we had but it looks like there’s no internal injuries, which is good, and it doesn’t look like there’s anything broken in his hip right now.”
“These guys are tough and fit, so they generally heal pretty quick. But you never know until you’re a few days into it and then they can they can pretty much tell if they’re going to be able to go or not And if it gets worse, then of course, he’ll seek further medical attention.”
Hopefully Eli will be 100% by Pala!
