Race One: Kiara Fontanesi led the way in the early stages but Daniela Guillen was able to make a move around the Italian. There wasn’t much in it between the pair as Fontanesi didn’t give up without a fight but the Spaniard held on to take the win.

Lotte van Drunen finished a lonely third with Martine Hughes having a very impressive ride for fourth.

Amandine Verstappen rounded out the top five with Lucy Barker having a good ride for sixth.

Race Two: Fontanesi got the holeshot and started to pull away at the front with Guillen not getting the best of starts and Van Drunen getting an even worse start.

It didn’t take Guillen too long to get into second and then she caught Fontanesi but the Italian held on to take the win and overall with it. However, there was drama as Fontanesi  doubled under a waved yellow flag which saw her docked and losing five vital championship points.

Martine Hughes was having another strong race and passed Papenmeier for third but then had Van Drunen all over her on the final lap in what was a battle for the podium. The Norwegian held on to bring home another podium – at long last!

There are now 12 points in it between Guillen and Van Drunen in the championship race with one to go in Australia.

UPDATE: After the race, Daniela Guillen has also been hit with a five point penalty for jumping on a waved yellow. It means Van Drunen now has a 16 points advantage going to Australia.
