Dani Heitink set the pace in the first qualifying group on his MJC Yamaha ahead of Filippo Mantovani but the times were incredibly close.
Nicolo Alvisi was third fastest ahead of Fantic duo Douwe van Mechgelen and Francesco Bellei.
In group two, Mano Faure set the pace over TM’s, Nicky Mannini. Home rider, Jekabs Kubulins was third fastest.
Hayden Statt put in an impressive lap to go sixth fastest in his group.
