Jordon Smith had a night to forget after he went into meltdown following his failed attempted to take his young teammate down and crashing himself.
Two more crashes followed in the heat, forcing Smith to the LCQ where he stalled on lap one while battle in the mid-pack. Then, just when it looked like Smith had got himself the chance of getting fourth on the last turn, he chose the wrong line to pass for the final transfer spot, going outside instead of inside and predictably going down again. His fourth crash of the night and no main event.
Smith later apologised on Instagram saying: “I’m sorry to my whole team and sponsors. Everyone works too hard for this to happen.”
