Ulster MX Championship format change

Ulster MX Championship format change

The MRA have confirmed a change in the Ulster Motocross Championship schedule – they will only run two blocks of racing as oppose to three – even though the Ulster Quads/Sidecar series still runs a block of three with youth racing also involved.

The MRA posted the statement below regarding the format change starting at round two of the series on Easter Monday:

With our 2022 MRA Ulster Youth and Adult Solo MX Championships off to a flying start following the first round of the series promoted by the North of Ireland Club at Robinson’s MX Park Claudy. It has quickly become apparent that with increasing competitor numbers wishing to take part in the MRA Ulster Championship series, a rethink of the race format on Championship days has been required.

Following a very recent MRA Association meeting on 07/04/22 it has been decided that there will now be two blocks of races for both youth and adult classes at each of the five remaining Championship rounds starting with round number two to be promoted by the South Down Club on Easter Monday 18th April. at Loughbrickland MX Park.

Due to this newly proposed “Two Race“ Ulster format, it has been further decided that Youth and Adult race times for all classes will be increased as detailed below.

Finally, the prize money totals which was originally agreed for a three race format will still remain as the same overall total amount but will now be divided by two, so as to increase each individual race prize money for all Adult Grades.

The new per race prize money schedule will be noted on the back of each race day programme.
