Twan van Essen injured – season over before it started!
Twan van Essen has been preparing for the 2021 EMX250 championship and was looking forward to a good season after signing with the TBS Conversions KTM team.
However, the young Dutch talent picked up an injury whilst putting in the laps in France – the result being torn ligaments, ACL, medial band and meniscus damage.
Unfortunately it looks like van Essen will miss the whole season which is a big blow – we’d like to wish him well with his recovery.
“Unfortunately my 2021 season is already over before it even started. Twisted my knee during practice in France and torn my ligaments, ACL, medial band and meniscus. Next week I’ll undergo surgery and then the long recovery process starts. Not gonna be easy but with right people around me it will make it a bit easier. Thanks to @tbsconversionsktm and @luccorens for the good care last couple off months and days. And @jj_racers_ @rjusts for bringing me in best shape ever unfortunately we couldn’t show it but in 2022 we will”, van Essen stated on social media.
