Superfinal results: International Italian Championship RD1 – Alghero

The superfinal produced the best racing of the day as Tim Gajser and Jeremy Seewer really went at it for a handful of laps. It was Seewer who had the early lead from Gajser, Geerts and Beaton. In the early stages Beaton was the man on the move and closed the gap to Seewer and Gajser before Geerts found his flow. The MX2 rider then caught right up to Gajser’s back wheel who was also on Seewer – it was briefly a three way battle for the lead!

Seewer and Gajser then increased the pace at the front with the latter putting an aggressive move on Seewer. The Swiss man didn’t give up though and was all over for Gajser – he actually confirmed after the race he passed Gajser back but give him the spot back after revealing he cut the track. In the end Gajser pulled away and Seewer settled for second but it was a great battle.

Geerts was a man on the mission on his 250cc machine finishing third beating Watson, Längenfelder and an impressive Koch.
