It’s been a big year for the Gabriel SS24 KTM team as it’s their first year racing in the Grand Prix paddock and they’ve had some good success already. The talented Cas Valk has won EMX250 rounds and is still in championship contention with three rounds go. The team also have British rider, Josh Gilbert under the awning in what is his first full year racing the MXGP World Championship.

With injuries it hasn’t been an easy season for Gilbert but after returning in Loket he’s now had a few MXGP rounds under his belt post injury so will be hoping to end his season on a high and push for MXoN selection for team GB.

We understand that things will be changing for the Gabriel SS24 KTM team in 2025 as they will secure even more backing from KTM and be known as the Factory Junior KTM team to focus on the EMX250 championship.

What it does mean is that the team aren’t expected to run an MXGP World Championship rider in 2025 so Josh Gilbert is likely to be on the search for another ride but fingers crossed he’ll be able to remain in the MXGP paddock.

With Cas Valk also exclusively revealing to us that he’ll make the move up to contest the MX2 World Championship in 2025, the team will are expected to have a fresh new rider line up to tackle the EMX250 championship.

If the deal materializes for the team, it’ll also be good to see KTM have an official KTM team contesting the EMX250 series again. The last team to have this support was the VRT Team who now run the official Yamaha VRT EMX250 setup. But they had Ferruccio Zanchi and Marc-Antoine Rossi under the awning last year with both talents already showing what they can do in the MX2 GP’s.

It remains to be seen who will be under the Factory KTM Junior team’s awning in 2025 to tackle the EMX250 championship but we’ll continue to keep you updated as and when we hear more.
