Rumour: Federico Tuani secures an MX2 GP ride for 2024?

One rider that has been on the look out for an MX2 GP ride for the 2024 season is young Italian talent, Federico Tuani who had a strong year racing the EMX250 series finishing twelfth in the championship.

It was Tuani’s last year racing the EMX250 series due to the under 21 age rule meaning he’s been looking out for an MX2 World Championship ride for 2024.

Tuani spent the 2023 season with the SM Action KTM team but that team have announced a change of brands and will be running the Factory Fantic setup in MX2 for 2024 with Kay Karssemakers and David Braceras under the awning.

It meant that it wasn’t possible for Tuani to stay with the SM Action team for 2024 and requires a move for the upcoming season. The Italian is believed to have tested a TM towards the end of the season but they opted to sign Yago Martinez instead.

We believe that Tuani is now sorted for the 2024 season and has signed a deal with the AIT Racing team that will be ran by Petar Petrov as previously reported.

The move will see Tuani stay on KTM machinery which he is familiar with and will look to have a strong rookie MX2 World Championship season. It’s thought that Tuani will contest the rounds of the MX2 World Championship that will take place in Europe.

The AIT Racing team are also on the look out for an EMX rider but that is still to be decided.

We’ll bring you the official news when it becomes available.
