Jett Lawrence took the 450 SMX title for the second year in a row by going 1-1 under pressure. Jett ran down Eli Tomac in the opening moto to put a great pass on Tomac late for the win with Hunter third.

In race two, Jett nailed the holeshot from Hunter and Tomac, and that’s how it stayed all moto as Jett controlled the pace out front with Hunter the only one staying close as Jett confirmed he is still the man to beat despite that injury outdoors.

How do you beat a guy with the perfect technique of Stefan Everts and the mindset of Ricky Carmichael? You don’t. Lawrence has no weaknesses.

Jett said: “I want to start by saying it sucked we didn’t have Chase out there, hope he has a speedy recovery, send my prayers to him. It feels good, I sat out outdoors with injury and it sucked. It’s good to come back and start where I left off. I’m happy buy it sucks cause it’s against Hunter, so a little bit hard to swallow. This new bike us unreal, thanks to everyone.”
