Delayed due to rain and to save the track, the free practice sessions got under way latter than planned but it was worth it with the track now in decent condition. Chase Sexton put in a late lap to go to the top ahead of Eli Tomac while in the returning West coast, Pierce Brown went fastest over Cameron McAdoo with Jett Lawrence third.
