It was Lucas Coenen who grabbed the holeshot on his Nestaan Factory Husqvarna and led from start to finish to take his first MX2 qualifying victory. Behind him it was Benistant, Horgmo, Laengenfelder and Everts all battling for second. Horgmo despite dislocating his collarbone in free practice was applying the pressure on Benistant but then crashed demoting him to fifth.
Everts passed Laengenfelder a couple of times but the young German on his GP return kept responding and passing him right back. On the final lap, Everts did make a move stick though and was right on Benistant for second.
Andrea Adamo got sandwiched out of the start and then lost the front which saw him down on the deck. He came from last to thirteenth but lost vital championship points.
