Chase Sexton looked back to his Honda level raw speed and was battling with Jett Lawrence all session for the fastest time in Q2, yet it was still Lawrence who found the three tenths he needed to top the times – then Malcolm Stewart came out of nowhere to go second by one thousandth of a second and he was going for pole chasing Lawrence on their final lap until he spun out!

It’s worry time for Cooper Webb who was sixth, one second off the speed of Jett.

Jett said of the track: “It changes very quickly from having traction to being concrete. Gona have to take some discipline out there, not grip it and rip it so much make sure we know where we can attack and where not too.”

In the 250s it was RJ Hampshire who edged Levi Kitchen – but there was only one tenth in it ahead of tonight’s title fight between the duo!
