Results: AMA Motocross Hangtown – 450cc – Sexton’s stunning ride!

The perfect season is over after Jett Lawrence crashed hard while leading on lap one! The Aussie had to stop in the pits to get his bike straightened as brother Hunter led the race until Chase Sexton ran him down at the end to take his first outdoor moto win on the KTM!

Jett got back to 24th and no points – and will go to the line with 24th gate pick for moto two!

In race two Chase Sexton had the ride of his life. After going down on lap one, Chase Sexton came from last to first, passing race-long leader Aaron Plessinger on the last lap in a performance that even had James Stewart saying it was thr best he had ever seen Sexton ride – and what a ride it was!

Jett Lawrence did what he could getting as high as third and one point before fading back to sixth with the effects of his first moto crash.

Lawrence said: “I used all my my upper body in thr first part and was feeling okay, once that got tired, I tried using my legs and my leg wouldn’t work. I landed on the footpeg and got a chunk taken out, less muscle you could almost say! It sucks, go back and recover, it’s going to make it a better story in the long run.”

The momentum has shifted and Sexton is the now the red plate holder in 450 motocross. This championship is on!

Sexton said: “That was a year and a half built up frustration. That was wide open from the start to the end. I don’t even know what to say, that was the best ride I think of my life. This one means a lot.”
