Race results: MXGP World Championship RD4 – Arco di Trento – Prado wins again!

Race One:

An intense first moto saw Prado holeshot from seventheen gate pick and Jeffrey Herlings get buried back in 14th from fourth gate pick! The story of their seaosns so far! Prado though had immediate pressure with Febvre and Gajser right there in second and third. Febvre then made his move and Gajser followed demoting the championship leader to third with Febvre taking the win despite a last lap charge by gajser that saw him go for the pass in the final turn!

Gajser is now only six points behind Prado as the title battle gets intense, that malfunctioning seat has opened the door!

Jeffrey Herlings did some excellent damage limitation to surge to fourth in a late race flurry of speed passing Seewer, the ever improving Vlaanderen and Guillod in the last ten minutes of the race.

Race Two:

Jorge Prado took another holeshot and this time took off with the win as Febvre crashed chasing him, giving Prado the overall win, making it four GP wins in a row to start the season! Whatever you throw at Prado he has the answer.

Calvin Vlaanderen rode great for second with Seewer third and it put some points in between Prado and his rivals with Gajser stuck in fourth and Febvre fifth after that tip-over.

Febvre took second overall and Gajser third  but it was a missed opportunity this weekend to beat Jorge Prado and their stoic faces told the story on the podium beside a beaming Prado.

Jeffrey Herlings actually had a top five start but slid out in turn two and had to come from last to seventh – he was fast but never got to show it at the front.

Prado said: “It wasnt a perfect start to the weekend. A mechanical issue in the qualifying race, I felt a bit worse today that yesterday. first moto I didn’t have a good flow, these guys were pushing me. We made some adjustments for the second moto, four in a row, we keep it going, baby.”
