Race results: EMX250 RD1 – Bonacorsi perfect in Riola

Race One: The start of the EMX250 moto was like an EMX125 race last year with Valk and Van Erp right at the front. The two young guns and EMX250 rookies had an intense battle before Valk got the upper hand on his Fantic two-stroke. The man on the move was Andrea Bonacorsi who was on a mission, he was able to pass both to dominate at the front.

Quentin Prugnieres was buried down in sixteenth but rode superb to get all the way back up to third. The BUD Kawasaki rider will feel he has the speed to win. Kay Karssemakers rode well to round out the top five.

Race Two: The second moto saw Van Erp, Bonacorsi and Prugnieres locked in a three way battle for the lead at the start of the race. Unfortunately, Prugnieres crashed which ruled out any possibility of a race win but Bonacorsi was immaculate at the front – he is going to be hard to beat in this championship chase!

Karssemakers rode well on his BT Husqvarna to pass Van Erp for second with the latter being passed by Prugnieres which cost him a podium but was still impressive on his EMX250 debut. Valk was also solid on his Fantic to finish fifth.
