Race One: The Teutschenthal circuit was already very technical and rough for the opening moto. Mathis Valin took the perfect start but had championship leader, Janis Reisulis behind him but Valin was riding brilliant pulling away at the front. The pair set a very very high pace but then had to deal with so many backmarkers – it was total chaos! It allowed Reisulis to close but Valin was able to regroup and despite a mistake on the final lap going off the track did enough to bring home a superb race win.
Gyan Doensen held third in the early stages looking comfortable on his WZ KTM before Simone Mancini made a move for an impressive third – the best result he’s ever had in the class. Mads Fredsoe also made a move on Doensen to finish fourth.
Race Two: Conditions were different for the second moto after heavy watering overnight made things very slippery for the riders. Max Werner didn’t ride the opening race due to sickness but was feeling better to line up for the second moto and he was leading after the first turn. He got out of shape and Valin had nowhere to go hitting him and going down. Valin was outside the top twenty so had plenty of work to do. At the front, it was Reisulis in total control and took a very comfortable win.
Francesco Garcia didn’t get the best of starts but rode well to finish an impressive second ahead of Nicolai Skovbjerg who rode great on his JK Yamaha. Valin rode well to come through to sixth. Mads Fredsoe had a very consistent day and ended up third overall for his first EMX125 overall podium.
