Jorge Prado took the holeshot and never looked back in the MXGP qualifying race to take 10 championship points. The Spaniard has started the season in superb form.
Behind Prado, Coldenhoff was riding well in second but had Vlaanderen, Fernandez and Herlings for company. As Vlaanderen and Fernandez tried to make moves on Coldenhoff they both suffered the same fate – crashes! Herlings appeared to play a patient game and ended up a solid third.
Brent van Doninck rode great to come in fourth ahead of Romain Febvre. Maxime Renaux got tagged and went down on turn one leaving him to come from last to eleventh – no championship points.
