Jorge Prado was perfect under pressure in Spain and in the championship to go 1-1-1 at his home track in Lugo and go head-to-head with his title rivals all weekend- coming out on top with the red plate!
Prado said: I mean I feel so good to be back on top. Winning on home soil in my city, it’s a dream come true – amazing crowd. Super excited and so grateful go be here. My goal coming to the weekend was to win and it went perfect. I have a good flow this year and hopefully we keep it to the end of the season. I am so happy. Super happy with my riding.
Jeffrey Herlings was the fastest man on the track late in race two as he charged from seventh to second with some great passes and taking advantage of Gajser’s crash late in race two – but he ran out of time to chase down perfect Prado!
Herlings said of his best GP result of the year: “It’s unfortunate about last weekend, that could have been a GP win. First moto today, missed my start and came from tenth to fourh. Second moto, I had a decent start but got passed in the first five minutes, that is my weak point – I am trying to get better . The speed is at least coming back to Jorge’s (level) a little bit but he puts it all together, I didn’t. Step by step coming back. Very happy with a podium.
