Velerio Lata and Nicholas Lapucci topped the time sheets in the MX2 groups at the opening round of the Italian Championship.
Lata set the pace ahead of Saad Soulimani who is racing a two-stroke this year and Alessandro Manucci. Kay Karssemakers has only been back on the bike for a week or so but decided to race and set the seventh quickest time in his group.
In group 2, Lapucci set the pace ahead of Andrea Rossi.
