Michele Cervellin injury update

Michele Cervellin of the JM Racing Honda team will miss the upcoming two rounds of the MXGP motocross world championships. In preparation for the season, Cervellin experienced discomfort from an old wrist injury, from which he is now recovering. The recovery is going well, but the two races are still a bit too soon for him, and the decision was made to allow him to heal up properly and return to the MXGP series fully fit.

Team owner Jacky Martens commented: “Michele is recovering from an old injury. It is of course a regrettable situation, because this meant that he missed the start of the world championship season. He is working hard on his recovery, but alas, the next two GP’s are still a bit too soon. We want him to return only when he has healed up fully. The MXGP class is extremely competitive this season, and you have to have all your ducks in a row to score well.’’

Michele Cervellin said: “It’s a pity that I had to miss the start of the MXGP season through this injury. For now it is important to recover fully before I start racing again. We are working hard on it to be back as soon as possible. The atmosphere in the team is great and together with them I want to build up to my best level.”

The JM Racing team will be in action at the second round of the MXGP world championship series at Matterley Basin in England. Henry Jacobi had good speed on display in Russia and hopes to convert this into a good score in England.
