Livia Lancelot has only had a team in the GP paddock for two season’s but has already worked with two Aussie riders in the form of Hunter Lawrence and Mitch Evans – both very talented!
The 114 Motorsports team confirmed their rider line up for the 2020 season and Lancelot has signed two Aussie’s to contest the MX2 World Championship – Nathan Crawford and Bailey Malkiewicz which will be the third and fourth Australian riders she’ll work with respectively.
“Together with Giacomo Gariboldi we are spending time to look at the video’s over there, look at all the lap times, timed practice, all the moto’s. I can give you all the stats of all the Aussie riders the last season of every round. So, it’s not only luck, we are really looking at everything. Then it’s a lot of work to get them here to put them in the best position to make results”, Lancelot told GateDrop.com
“Like you said, they have a great culture over there and they are really motivated, easy to work with and even at the MXoN with Kyle Webster. He needed a bike for the Nations so we give him Mitch’s bike, he almost holeshot the qualifying race and he did a great result that weekend. We definitely like Aussie’s and we keep working like that”, added Lancelot.
Both Nathan and Malkiewicz have been in France for the past week and had their first day on the 114 Motorsports 2020 Honda – Lancelot says they’re looking fast.
“They both arrived one week ago and have already started working hard. It was their first day on the bike today and I am happy to finally see them on the 2020 Honda CRF250R. They are looking fast and motivated, so we will see what the new MX2 season will bring for them”.
