Star Racing Yamaha title favourites, Jeremy Martin and Justin Cooper , gave their thoughts ahead of the upcoming West coast supercross season on the zoom press conference with Jeremy stating it’s a pivotal season for him because he wants to go 450 full-time!
Jeremy Martin
“I’m excited for the new year, back on blue obviously and it is a pivotal year for me. I have been in this class a long time and I am ready to try to race the 450 guys, I have got my feet wet a couple of times so I would like to be back up in that class full-time, riding on a factory team.
“It’s a big year everyone has done a lot of work, I’m sure the other riders I’m racing have done a lot of work. We have all taken some spills and had some crashes but I think we are all excited to go racing. I haven’t raced in a while so I am excited for tomorrow.
Justin Cooper
“Everything is pretty much on track still, when I had the foot injury thoughts ran through my mind like, ‘I’m not going to be able to race this, i am not going to be prepared ,’ it’s pretty lenient coming in, we have a two week break after this and it all came together quicker than I thought it was going to. my foot is feeling a lot better now and I was able to get some time in on the bike, so that is big for me. I was actually really comfortable the first day back and my fitness didn’t really lack.
“I’m feeling as good as a I can with what I was dealt with, so I am still excited to get the season started, I don’t think I at a disadvantage and I don’t want to make an excuse. Just excited to be back behind the gate, starting the new season and doing the best I can out there.”
