Fernandez injury update – positive

After his crash coming out of turn one in the MXGP qualifying race in Argentina, Ruben Fernandez was unable to participate for the rest of the weekend due to injury his lower left leg.

But despite the injury the Spaniard says he will try and race in Spain next weekend at his home Grand Prix in round two of the MXGP world championship series.

He won’t be 100% fit for the Spanish GP but will get a boost from a packed crowd in Madrid.

It’s also a boost that HRC Honda will have both riders under the awning.

Fernandez said:

“As you know, at the GP of Argentina I had a fall in the exit turn one of the qualifying race which prevented me from riding after suffering injury to my left leg.

Despite everything, I am motived and positive about being able to race the next GP in Spain. We are working on recovery, thank you for all the messages!
