Jago Geerts has offered an update on his injuries sustained in Argentina after two big crashes – but it was the second one that did the damage of a dislocated elbow and broken collarbone.
The MXGP rookie now faces a lengthy recovery time which is a shame as he was a real boost to the MXGP World Championship.
The Belgian will be eager to get back and impress when he does return though.
Geerts said:
“On these recordings with my GOPRO you can see where it went wrong during the qualifying race for the MXGP in Argentina.
“Yesterday I had surgery on my left elbow and my right collarbone.
“I want to thank the surgeons, Dr Ludwig Anné and Dr Gert-Jan Opsomer (shoulder) and Dr. Duerinckx and Dr Pieter Caekebeke (elbow), the medical staff from the hospital Genk Oost-Limburg ZOL in Belgium and my team for the good care.”
